Elephant Gift Box

Hi~Just popping in with a quick Valentine's gift box. It's perfect for holding a bag of candy, cookie treats or as I did here, a cute bath set for a neighbor or a niece. I used an image from the Valentine Digital Stamp Collection from Treasure Box Designs.

I colored my image with copic markers, cut out around the image and then popped it on to this sweet box from Silhouette America. I finished it off with a dotted ribbon wrapped around the box. I will add a sentiment to the bottom front once I know who I am going to give it to.

This is only one of the images from the collection. There are 21 cute images in this large collection. Kids could color some up as a fun family project, and then hand them out in class. Thanks for dropping by and looking~

Panda Bear Love.....

Here is my design team project this week for Treasure Box Designs. A cute little Panda Bear Valentines card for my sweet g-grandson.

I kept it simple, since I want to mail it out without extra postage or worrying about things getting crushed in transit.

The file is from the new 'Bamboozled by Love' kit. This is just one of the patterns. (The heart cutout is not part of the file. It is from Silhouette America) The lettering is from the title in the kit, but I used just the one word 'Love' for my card.

I popped everything up using dimensional adhesives. The dotted background paper is from Stampin' Up, and isn't quite as bright as it shows here.

I chalked all of the pieces and added the little bow for fun. Check out this cute kit here, and all the other wonderful new Valentine's and Easter files, available on sale now.

Snowflake Love......

We are in the middle of some heavy duty snowfall today, so I think it's another great day to stay in and do some crafting. Here's a cute snowman card using a sweet image from Country Life Graphics. He's from their Greetings Collection.

He was decked out for Christmas. But with a little maneuvering in my software program, I removed the holly on his hat, and hand drew some little hearts around his head. Now he looks more like a Valentine's card.

I colored the image with Copic markers, and did the highlight's with a white gel pen. I always add little dots to represent where shadows might be. The dots are something I started doing as a painter and it carried over to my card making.

The pretty background paper is digital. It is from Scrappin' Doodles Whimsical Valentine Backgrounds collection. I just print out what I need to match my project.

The little sentiment under the bow is also from a Country Life Graphic set. I matted everything on to black card stock and finished it with a big glittered snowflake using a cutting die and my Cuttlebug.

A Snowy Afternoon....

Winter has finally come to Michigan. I am bundled up in my comfy old sweats, listening to the oldies on the radio, and holed up in my craft room. I can't think of a better way to spend a snowy Sunday! Here is a cute card I made using an adorable snowman image from Primsy Doodle Designs.

I don't normally do anything with purples or lavenders. But I really like the way this card turned out. I used Copic markers to color my image, and the background papers I used are digital papers that I printed out from Scrappin Doodles. I use digital papers a lot, because I can print out an 8.5 x 11 size and split the patterns half and half on the paper. That way I don't have a lot of waste. And using my software program I can change the colors to whatever I need to match my colored images.

I backed everything with a pale green card stock, and added a little felt circle and heart. I like the added dimension you get by using felt. I think I may add a rhinestone to the heart for some extra bling. The sentiment is a stamp from studio g, that I picked up from Walmart for just a dollar.

I added a sheer lavender dotted ribbon to the side too. Doesn't he have just the cutest face?

Changing it up...

Once in a while I like to alter an original pattern. To put in a little more of my own style. That's what I did here today with this cut file. It isn't a big change. Just enough to achieve the look I was going for.

Aren't they adorable? They are from a Treasure Box Designs cut file. I wanted them to look like Mother and Daughter, or maybe a younger girl and an older sister. So with a few subtle changes, I think I was able to get achieve that.

This is the result of doing the pattern as designed. I just love the little 'tummys' on them. And the blue jeans. So cute!

On this one I made a few subtle changes. I cut back her hair, and 'flipped' it on the ends, to achieve an older persons style.(None of my friends wear their hair that way....lol.....but I needed it to be different.) I also gave her earrings and pearl buttons on her blouse.

The younger girl I added a flower to her headband and some buttons on her shirt. They could be Mother & Daughter or older & younger sisters.

The original file is actually a BFF file where they are holding a heart. But by cutting and adding an extra arm piece to the file I was able to get an entirely different look. Here's what the original file looks like.

And with a few changes, here's my version of it. All of the files from Treasure Box Designs are so user friendly. The pieces fit together beautifully.

I said I'd be back to show you a card using the same file I used in my previous posting. ( If you haven't seen it, check out my last post) But this time I'm using it in the way it was originally designed to be used. The file is from Treasure Box Designs, Love Is In the Air cutting file.

These bugs are so adorable. I can imagine using them all year around, in lots of different palettes, for all sorts of projects can't you?

I cut the files out with my die cutting machine and chalked all the edges for more depth. Then I used lots of embossing to add details to my papers. I love the swiss dots and the cute embossed hearts. Subtle but pretty. Highlights were added with a white gel pen.

I'm Buggy Over You.......

Once in a while I like to change things up and in today's projects I altered the cutting files and used them in a way they weren't originally intended to be used. I have this nifty little software plug-in that lets me make a line drawing out of just about anything. ( It's a very old plug in and I don't believe it is available anymore.) Anyway, I just couldn't resist making digital stamps from the file and coloring them up to make these cards. The images I used to make my cards are from Treasure Box Designs and it is actually a cutting file that you can see here. THEY ARE NOT AVAILABLE AS STAMPS.

These little fireflies are just the cutest things aren't they? On my first card I used the single bug alone and since I didn't have the right paper to use, I created my own paper and printed it off so it would match my images. All of the background papers used on both cards were made by me.

On this card I used the sample images from the bugs in the files to make a cute bug filled paper and then created a simple striped paper using the colors from the bug to match. I love being able to do that!

You can see them a little better in this photo. I also hand stitched around the circle and the sentiment tag using embroidery floss to add some interest. Although I think it would have shown up more if I had used a darker color of floss.

See what I mean about how cute their little faces are? I colored the images with Copic markers and added a few shading dots on there too. The white highlights I added using a white gel pen.

This cutting file is from Treasure Box Designs and it is NOT AVAILABLE as a stamp. I did that myself, using my plug in, since I am only using it to create a personal card.
This next card I created using the double bugs from the 'Love Is In The Air' cut files.

The plaid paper on this card was also created by me, using the copic colors that I chose to color my images with. I use Paintshop Pro to created all of my decorative papers.

Such cute expressions!!!! More hand doodled dots were added and highlights with a white gel pen. I kept this card simple and added only a lace paper doily and a bow.

It probably wasn't fair to show you these cute images knowing that you can't get them as digital stamps,...but they are available as a paper piece file! Check them out at Treasure Box Designs. She has other adorable Valentine files too. Check back in a few days when I will be showing this same file done as a paper pieced project, like it was intentionally designed for. Sometimes, ya just gotta be different :~)

Magnetic Photo Board

Yesterday I spent a most delightful afternoon with my youngest grand daughter Kelly. She was wanting to make a handmade Christmas gift for her best friend. Something special from the heart. So we went through my many cutting files from Treasure Box Designs and settled on this cute robot file. (It's an older file from the store that was later given out as a freebie.)

We did two girl robots to represent her and her friend, and we did them in their favorite colors.

Kelly wanted a way for her bestie to display photos that could be changed out at different times, rather than have a photo in a permanent frame. So we came up with this idea of a magnetic photo board.

The metal board is spray painted a semi glossy black and is self standing so it can be displayed on a student desk or shelf. We added tags with their names on it to match the robots.

We did some doodling here and there and added buttons for personality!

We also added white highlights to make the metal parts look shiny and more robot like. We plan on making more magnets for different seasons and occasions so they can be changed whenever her bestie changes photos. We love the way it turned out! I can't wait to get together and spend more time with my grand daughter crafting. Here's another Valentine project....a cute little gift bag.

Perfect for tucking in sweet treats for that special someone.

I used the elephant file from the Treasure Box Pals cutting file. This is just one of the cuties from the file. There are many more. All equally adorable.

I decorated a plain white handled bag with decorative paper, added the cute elephant and topped it off with one of my handmade flowers and a tagged sentiment.

I added the black hooves with a copic marker. White gel pens added the highlights and I finished with some doodles here and there to give him personality.

I know.....it's not quite Christmas yet, but I'm done with the holiday cards and projects. I am moving on~lol. Here's my first Valentine's project for next year. I had a lot of fun with this one.

I used a freebie file from Treasure Box Designs. This cute little poodle file is perfect for a Valentine card.

I added some doodling on him to help distinguish the separate pieces from each other. Otherwise even with the shading, the pieces had a tendency to blend together.

Doesn't he have the cutest face?

I am a sucker for a Gingerbread graphic. Never saw one I didn't like .....and I love this one from Primsy Doodle Designs.It has the sweetest little face.

Since I always need gift tags at Christmas, I made a cute little tag with this digital stocking stamp.

For my tag I used a Silhouette America cut file. I love the layers. The stocking image fit perfectly on it. I wanted it to be colorful so I used basic bright card stock colors for the tag and colored the image with deep colored copic markers.

I added highlights with a white gel pen and finished the tag off with lots of glitter for sparkle.

Where's Winter?

Not that I'm complaining that there's no snow here yet in Michigan. Quite the contrary actually.....! We have long cold, gloomy, snowy days here for months on end during Michigan winters. So I really don't mind that it's not here yet. I'm not a big fan of winter as you can tell~lol

My snowman card project is all the 'snow' I need for today. He is a single image from Country Life Graphics.
I colored him with copic markers and cut him out using a Nestabilities Die and my Cuttlebug.

I added some shading dots using my Pentel Slicci 0.25 fine line pen, and added white stripes to his scarf with my white gel pen.

I also added some Star Dust Stickles glitter to his buttons and hat and here and there among the branches to simulate icy coldness. I think he looks great all spiffed up.

Reindeer Pillowbox

Just stopping by to show you this cute pillow box I created using a file from Treasure Box Designs.

The reindeer was a freebie file that was in Treasure Box Design's weekly newsletter a few weeks ago. The freebies are a great way to try your hand at doing paper piecing if you are a beginner and are wanting to try it out.

I cut out all of the pieces and then chalked them to add dimension. I also added a few highlights here and there using my white gel pen and my black Pentel Slicci (0.25 mm) I love that pen. I can get the tiniest lash lines with it. I order them by the dozen through Amazon, as during my classes they somehow keep disappearing~lol.

I ran the white mat and the pink bow through my Swiss Dots embossing folder, using my Big Shot. I then added the whole piecing to my pillow box. It will be perfect to hold a small treat or gift to give for Christmas.

Christmas Elf

Today I'd like to share a Christmas card using one of the new digital stamps from Treasure Box Designs. I just love this cute elf!

One of the things I like about using digital stamps is the fact that I can manipulate them any way I want. I can make them larger, smaller, flip them or even add other stamps to them to achieve the look I desire.

Doesn't he just have the cutest little face? And those pixie ears..love them!

I can use these digital stamps over and over and not have to worry about where to store them. They are all at my fingertips on my computer disk.

If you haven't tried digital stamps yet, stop on over to Treasure Box Designs and pick some up. I actually prefer them over the traditional 'rubber' stamps.I never have to worry that I stamped them crooked, or smudged the ink before it was dry. It's a perfect image every time.

Ho Ho Ho Gift Tote

Here's a cute holiday tote I made using the Ho Ho Ho cut file from Treasure Box Designs.

I love the extra stars and the heart button that are in the file. They really add some fun to this piecing.

I chalked all the pieces and then added some highlights with a white gel pen. I tied a plaid bow through the heart button to add dimension.

Doesn't he just have the cutest face? It's what I love the most about the designs from Treasure Box Designs. All of Dina's images have the most whimsical faces. You just can't help but love them!

The sentiment stamp is from Close To My Heart-Sweet Seasons and the snowflake is an EK Success punch. The tote box is a template I converted to a cut file using Silhouette Cameo software.

Mix It Up Blog Hop

Here's my project for today's fun hop! This pocket tag cocoa holder can be used to hold hot cocoa mixes like I did here, or you can tuck just about any other item inside that will fit.

I combined this cute gingerbread file from Treasure Box Designs with the cookie jar file from Scraptastical Kreations.

I added lots of glitter to add some fun bling! A sheer pink bow was wrapped around the tag and a matching bow was added to finish it off!

Add the hot cocoa packs and a homemade wrapped cookie inside for a perfect teacher or neighbors gift.

Makin' Snowballs.....

Hi...I'm just dropping by to share this Winter card I made using a cute image from Country Life Graphics.

I'm loving the cute little snowman heads laying on the ground. This was such a fun image to color.What I love about this image, is the 'down home country' feel, of cold winter nights, days gone by, memories of holidays past....you know, that nostalgic feeling :)

The little sentiment stamp is from Close to my Heart. I colored my image with copic markers, and popped up the scalloped border. The decorative papers are from my stash so I can't tell you who made them. I wrapped the border in some plain white twine and added a cute leaf embellishment.

Glittery Christmas Tag...

I wanted to share my sparkly, glittery Christmas Bear Tag. It was made using one of the older cutting files from Treasure Box Designs.

I made my tag using the Winter Wonderland cut files. This is just one of the many patterns in the set.

I had so much fun making this tag. I added sparkle and shine everywhere. I love the way the glitter shows up on the bear looking like tiny icicles.

I created a snowy hill on the bottom of the tag and some dripping snow to the top of the tag and coated them with fine glitter. I also added some sparkly snowflakes for added interest. I put a little snowball in his hand too :)

I mounted everything onto some decorative Christmas paper first, and then added it to a plain tag. I popped the bear and snowflakes up using dimensional's, and added a sheer white ribbon. This tag will be perfect to sparkle up someone's Christmas present this holiday!

My Time Made Easy Color Challenge

It's time for another My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette Challenge. Here's this weeks palette colors.

I chose to make a hot cocoa mix treat holder. I tucked some hot cocoa mix and a small baggie of marshmallows inside. It could be given along with a cute coffee mug or tucked into a gift basket.

I used the digital images from the Grab A Cup stamp set, paired with the sentiments from Fancy A Cuppa digital set. My background paper is from the new Mrs. Candy Claus digital paper. I love all the background papers from My Time Made Easy.

Boo Bat Hanging Treat Holder

Here's a cute little hanging treat holder I whipped up this afternoon, using a Treasure Box Designs past freebie Bat.

I cut the bat out of gray card stock so the eyes would show up a little better. And I didn't have any off black paper, so I used what I had.

I chalked him with dark purple and highlighted him with a white gel pen. I did a little doodling with a black sharpie pen too :)

The pocket in front will hold a candy treat and the hole is made to hang on a bottle. Or cut a slit on one side of the hole and hang it on a door knob instead. I put candy straws in mine, but a candy bar would fit too.

My Time Made Easy Halloween Palette Challenge

I loved working with the colors in this weeks My Time Made Easy pretty palette challenge.

Here's the card I made using a MTME digital image.

I layered my cardstock colors on a kraft card base. The green striped paper is from Stampin' Up.

I colored my image with Copic markers, added a stamped sentiment tag, and finished it off with a purple grossgrain ribbon.

Here's an Autumn greeting card I created using another of Lisa Craig's Primsy Doodle Designs cute digital stamps.

I love all of Lisa's images. They have such happy adorable facial expressions. Working with these images just puts a smile on my face.

I colored this image with Copic markers and added highlights with a white gel pen. The papers I used were in my stash and the cover was missing, so sorry I can't tell you the makers name.

Photo Frame and Snowflakes....

A photo frame and snowflakes have nothing to do with each other. It's just that I am going to share two of the projects I made today....a photo frame and some cute snowflake ornaments. First up is the photo frame.

I love creating items that are cute as well as functional. This frame has a sturdy little stand built into the back that holds the frame up by itself. And you can slide the photo in from the side.

I added a scallop border across the top. The adorable paper pieced penguin is from Treasure Box Designs 'Holiday Cheer' cutting files. The Merry Christmas title was a TBD freebie.

I popped him up on some dimensional's and added holly berries and polka dots using Stickle's (Icicles & Christmas Red). I think he'd be perfect to hold a Baby's First Christmas photo.

Next I'd like to share these cute little snowflake ornaments.

They were created using diecut snowflakes and the cute 'Face Stamps' from Treasure Box Designs. There are 2 different sets of face stamps available. I have them both and love them. It takes all the guess work out of making faces.

I added some chalk shading and also white highlights with my gel pen to bring them to life. They are just so much fun.

Add a little sparkly glitter, punch a hole and add some string and they're ready to hang on the tree or anywhere you want to add a touch of whimsy.

Thank you so much to everyone that sent me messages of hope and prayers for me and my family during the loss of our Mother. I appreciate each and every one of you so much!
I decided it's time to get back to being creative. I need to concentrate on something that keeps my mind busy.So....here's a cute little bottle tag holder I made using the 'Turkey Time' cutting file from Treasure Box Designs.

The pocket is big enough to tuck a card or tag into or can just hold a powdered flavor packet, like I did here.

This is such a cute cutting file. I plan on using it to make napkin rings for a Thanksgiving Day table setting too. Go check out the many files on Treasure Box Designs. Spooky.......Hanging Treat Box

This week I have created a cute door hanger treat box using Treasure Box Designs 'Spooky Collection' cutting file. This file was released last year, and I keep turning back to use it again and again!

The 'Spooky Collection' contains ghosts and witches, bats and pumpkins and so much more. This is only one of the files from the kit.

I created the hanging box using my cutting machine. The box file is from Silhouette America.

I cut the cat from basic black card stock and cut the pumpkin from Stampin' Up designer paper. The boo stamp is from Close to my Heart acrylix series Hallow-scream # B1281. I chalked all the pieces and added lines here and there to accent.

Country Life Graphics...

I am so pleased to announce that I am now designing card samples for Country Life Graphics. I have known Gail and Jerry for a while and have worked with them in the past. They are wonderful people and I am honored to work with their images. I made this cute fall card using a digital stamp from their new fall collection, 'A Time To Reap'

I colored the image with Copic's and shaded with Prismacolor Pencils.

I love this collection and this is only one of the images from the set.

I used a Nestabilities to cut out the scallop frame and then threaded some brown checked ribbon through for interest.

Here's what I've been doing all day......

I have dirty dishes in the sink, clean dishes in the dishwasher needing to be put away, a carpet to vacuum, a sink to scrub, dust bunnies everywhere, if you name it, it needs attention. But it isn't going to get it today....

Because this is what I've been doing.

Getting ready for Fall craft shows and restocking the store shelves for the Holidays. But I'm not complaining....because even though it's lots of work, it's also lots of fun!

I'm feel lucky that I get to work at what I love to do!

I also spent time packaging up these kits for my next scrapbooking class. It doesn't look like much, but these kits required tons of little pieces to be packed together without losing any. I hope I didn't forget anything.
I'm tired,but happy. Think I'll go reward myself with a big bowl of homemade soup and a nice nap~!

I could never forget......

All week I've been watching memorial shows dedicated to the terrorist attacks against our country. Everyone says, "We must never forget". I don't see how that's ever possible. That anyone could ever forget. It will be ingrained into our hearts, minds and souls as long as we take a breath. It was personal. It was the worst thing to happen to our nation. I will never be able to not think of it every time the anniversary comes around each year. And I suspect, neither will anyone else.

This week the My Time Made Easy color palette is based on the American colors of Red ,White and Blue, in memory of 9-11 and it's victims.

This is the card I created for the color palette challenge.

I used the label from the Well Preserved stamp set, and paired it with the flowers and bee stamps from the Bee-Loved set.

The sentiment is from the Bee-Loved set too. I combined the flowers in the set to work together by manipulating the images in my software program. I love being able to add and subtract the images and use the parts I want. Sort of like creating a whole different stamp.

I do wish I had remembered to layer another piece of white card stock under the plaid paper. But by the time I realized it, I had already adhered the other layers. I'll blame it on a senior mind lapse.

Freaky Frankie.....

Here's Freaky Frankie with his little sidekick, Sammy Spider. They're from Treasure Box Designs 'Spooky' Halloween cutting file.

I created this project to use as a decorative wall hanging during Halloween. Although you could use it for many other things.

This is Frankie's little friend. I think he's so cute hanging from his web. I used embroidery floss to attach him.

Frankie recently had surgery so he has a few scars. They were added with a Sharpie marker. His orange gross grain ribbon tie makes him look so handsome.

Fall Crow Pumpkin Basket

Here's another cute project made using an older Fall Collection cutting file from Treasure Box Designs.

I wanted something to put a small gift into and this pumpkin shaped basket fit my need perfectly. I like the cute little handle.The pumpkin basket is from Silhouette America.

I used the crow file from the Fall Collection.

I added some fall wording and some punched flowers to fill in the spaces. I chalked all the pieces and added highlights with a white gel pen.

Pumpkin Pokes

Today I am focusing on the cute face stamps from Treasure Box Designs. They are rubber stamps and are so much fun to use on all sorts of projects. They are very handy if you are one of those people who have trouble drawing faces.

I used mine to create these cute Pumpkin Gang cupcake toppers.

Aren't the faces adorable?

I cut pumpkins, leaves and stem shapes out, then stamped on the faces and colored in with Copic markers.

I added some doodling to each one to add a whimsical touch. They would also be cute if you left the sticks off, punched a hole on either side and strung them on twine for a perfect party banner.

My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette Challenge

It's Sunday which means it's time for another My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette Challenge. The color palette this week was so much fun to work with.

Here is how I chose to use the colors in my project.

I created my gift box in Celery Green. I then layered a decorative paper from MTME Academic Modge Podge collection onto white card stock, changing the color of the paper first to match the color palette.

The scalloped labels are Nestabilities cut and embossed with my Cuttlebug. I added the stamped images using MTME Round Label and Blueberry stamps from the Well Preserved digital stamp set.

I changed the color of my ribbon by recoloring white ribbon with a Copic marker to get an exact match. I love working with the digital stamps. I like how I am able to resize and rework them. In this project I added extra berries and a leaf to the stamps.

A Happy Froggy' Fall & Design Team Call

I wanted to share this cute fall card I made using Primsy Doodle Designs Happy Fall stamp set. This is a digital stamp set, and if you haven't tried using digital stamps yet, you really need to.

There are so many wonderful reasons to use digital stamps. Like no ink pads to buy, no waiting for the rubber to come in the mail or going out to the store to buy them.

You can change the size to fit any project you need. You get instant download as soon as you buy them. You can use them over and over, and you just print them out using your home printer.

I use way more digital stamps than I do rubber stamps. I have a lot of rubber stamps. But I like that digital stamps can be saved to a disk and take up hardly any room.

I especially love Lisa's digital stamps. They are so cute. And I love the .99 cent price tag for a WHOLE set. So many online sites charge $3 and up for a single stamp! You just can't beat the quality or the cuteness.

My card was printed on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I added a matching bow and rhinestone embellishments, and finished it off with one of my handmade daisies.

Giraffe Chalkboard Cutie.....

My daughter came over to play (work) in my craft room with me today, and we spent all day cutting out baby shower invitations for my oldest grandson's first baby.

While she was here, I taught her how to paper piece. Check out her darling giraffe chalkboard project!

Of course it was created using a Treasure Box Designs file This is just one of the files in the Treasure Box Pals cutting file. So cute!

We added the baby's name, a cute heart, and matching bow to finish it off. When she gets it home she will add a string with an attached piece of chalk

I love the way it turned out and I think it'll look perfect in the new baby's room. (Thanks Toni for a wonderful day!)

My Time Made Easy......

I am so excited to be a new design team member for My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette Challenge. Each week we are presented with a color palette, and we use the digital stamps from My Time Made Easy shop to create our project.

For my card, I used the Bee-Loved and Bee-Loved Sentiments, digital stamp set. I love this set!

I created and printed my own paper so I could match the color palette precisely. My image was colored using Copic markers. I added a piece of matching ribbon for my sentiment by coloring white twill ribbon with a Copic marker too. It's a great way to match whatever color you need, and you save money by purchasing just white ribbon.Perfect match every time.

Here's my latest Design Team card for Primsy Doodles.

I love working with Halloween colors. I'm getting a head start on my Halloween cards :D

This little pumpkin is so darn cute. I had fun coloring it up with my Copic markers. I also like to doodle some on the images to add my own touch.

I added my highlights using a white gel pen and then doodled some lines and dots with a fine point Pentel Slicci pen. I loved the pen so much I ordered a dozen of them from Amazon.

I cut the image out with a Cuttlebug Nestabilities Label Die and colored around it with a black marker and added dots for interest. The bottom border is from K & Company that I bought last year at Michaels.

The brad is a button with a rhinestone flower added to the top. Thanks for looking :D

Crunchy Leaves......

I love Autumn....the golden color of the sun, the pumpkins and cornstalks, the apple cider and donuts, and of course the colorful crunchy leaves.

As soon as I saw the 'spooky' tree in Treasure Box Designs, Spooky pattern file, I knew I wanted to make this card.

I used several other Treasure Box Design files from different sets to make the fence, pumpkin and leaves. I like being able to use the files in ways, other than they were originally intended. Like the tree here was designed to be a spooky Halloween tree. But on this card there's nothing spooky about it.

I added highlights to the tree branches, pumpkin and fence using a white gel pen, and chalked the background sky using Decorator Chalks. I left the rest of the card simple, keeping the tree as the focal point.

Check out all the Autumn design cutting files that Treasure Box Designs offers. I am planning on using some of the files to create decorations to place on my tables, and mantle for the season. A cute and cost effective way to decorate for the fall season without spending a lot of money. *U*

Round Fall Owl Card

Before I go out to tackle my lawn chores, I wanted to drop by and show you this round Fall Owl card I created.

It was made using Treasure Box Designs Freebie Christmas Owl from last week. If you haven't signed up for the newsletter yet, you need to go do that. It's the only way to remember to grab Dina's freebies every week.

I just love her owls. I mean, I am mad for them. This was actually a Christmas owl file. This is my twist on it.... substituting the wreath in the file with a scroll pattern and the berries for leaves.

I wanted something other than a traditional square card, and I thought the round card worked just fine.The scroll pattern is from a Christmas card file from SilhouetteAmerica. I just changed it up to work with my Fall theme, by using earthy colored card stock.

The leaves were made using a Paper Studio punch and were punched out of paint sample cards from Lowes paint department. I love using the paint sample cards and they're free. And they come in ton's of colors. I always grab a bunch whenever I have reason to visit their store.

Back to School Doorknob Hanger

It's time to start getting the kiddies accustomed to the idea that school will be back in session soon. The lazy summer routine of sleeping late, playing until sunset, and long carefree days, will be replaced with a more hectic schedule. So why not make it fun by hanging this cute tag on their door as a gentle fun reminder that school is just around the corner.

The adorable frog with her box of crayons is a product of Primsy Doodle's Lisa Mullins-Craig. I just love her artwork!

This is a new digital stamp from Primsy Doodles back to school images.

I printed the digital stamp on to white cardstock using my printer and then colored it in with my Copic markers. I then mounted it on to decorative paper, and adhered it to my door hanger. (The door hanger template I created using my cutting machine software.)

I finished it off by adding some ribbon, a daisy button and doodling with a white gel pen. Thanks for looking!

Spookville Coffin Box

Today I'm sharing this little coffin shaped box that's perfect for holding any Halloween treat.

I used the new Spookville cutting file from Treasure Box Designs.

This is such a cute pattern kit and has everything you need to make treat bags, boxes, cards ,scrap layouts and other Halloween crafts. (The coffin box is not included in the file.)

I added the skull and crossbones from the kit to the inside of my box lid to add an element of surprise.

Tuck a little colored paper inside, add your treats and you have the perfect little box to add to a party table.

Digital Scrap Page Layout

Today I'm sharing a scrap page layout I did using Treasure Box Designs Digital Zoo kit.

(Click on the photo for an enlarged view.) I used just three of the digital elements from the kit. There are so many more.
The monkey is the same image each time, just used in different ways.

That's what I love about using digitals. The images can be layered and manipulated, to achieve whatever results you want. My blog banner at the top of my page, is another example of using digital images from Treasure Box Designs.

The adorable girls in the layout are my niece Shannan and her niece Aubrey. Check out all of the digital kits that Treasure Box Designs has to offer. There are more on the way. And if you haven't tried digital yet, you really need to. No paper mess to put away afterwards, and you can burn the pages to a disk to share with everyone.

It's another card using a cute owl file pattern from Treasure Box Designs.

I am crazy for these owls.

I love their big eyes and their cute whimsical little faces.

This is the owl file from the Treasure Box Pals kit. There are tons of different little animals and pets included in the file. This is just one of the many cute images.

I embellished with some of my own hand made flowers and a leaf punch from The Paper Studio.

The wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round......

I wanted to show you a cute layout page using the new Back to School cutting file kit from Treasure Box Designs.

It's almost that time of year!

Check out the cute little bus driver.I love his two little hands on the wheel.

The scissors are from an older kit called School Days. The word title was created using my Silhouette cutting machine. I used a border punch along the edge of my banner so it would resemble note paper.

I added the apple to the stacked frame area to accent that area. I left the entire layout rather simple as not to detract from the photo that will be added later.

Since I'm basically a card maker and not a scrapbooker, I am happy with the final result. I hope you enjoyed looking. Have a wonderful weekend.

Here's a cute card tag I made today using Treasure Box Designs 'Spooky' Halloween cutting pattern.

It folds up and holds a tag that you can write or stamp a message on. Or you could replace it with a candy bar or other Halloween treat.

The little cats face is so cute!

I just love being able to use orange and black together in fall projects.

First Fall Card

I tend to jump around from season to season when I am card making, so yesterday it was a summer card and today it's a fall card. It's just how my creative side works. This is my first fall card of the year!

I recently joined the design team for Primsy Doodle Designs , so I chose to use the 'Fall Pockets' image to make this cute card.

I love Lisa's designs and her autumn lineup is to just too darn cute.

I used Copic markers to color my stamp and a white gel pen to add the highlights.

I wanted the pocket to resemble blue jeans and I was pleased with the way it turned out. I am still working on improving my skills with the Copics. It is a bit of a learning process.

The cute digi stamps and the pre-colored images at Primsy Doodle Designs are perfect for any type of paper crafting. And the prices are half of what a single stamp costs at other sites, so they're a real value.

It's Summer

With temperatures being in record setting highs this week, I have practically been living indoors in the AC. The good news is, I've had some time for a little card making.So I'm sharing a cute card I made using several different patterns from Treasure Box Designs.

I like the simplicity of this card. I used several different cutting file kits to make my card. I used the sun from 'Cool in the Pool', the fence and grass from 'Garden Birdies', and the tree from the 'Family Tree' collection.

Christmas In July......with Treasure Box Designs

Treasure Box Designs is having a Christmas In July feature among the designers this month and I thought I would make my projects using the new Christmas Penguin's digital kit. Dina has just started doing the digital kits and I love them.

Here are three different scrapbook page elements I created, using the cute images from the kit. I can now use these to embellish my page layouts.

These are the actual embellishments before I added them to my projects

Below is another sample of using these embellishments to make a card front for a greeting card.

If you haven't tried the digital kits yet, I urge you to check them out. I created the embellishments and pages using Photoshop CS and Paintshop software programs. The best part of going digital is no paper clutter or cost and you can use the pieces over and over as often as you want. This is great for crafter's with small children and those who don't want to have to pick up their paper supplies each time you use them.

I just load my pages on disk and then I can keep them safe and share with family and friends.

Early Fall project box

I know it's not time to be thinking about Fall just yet. But I've been busy planning for my fall classes and creating my display samples. I wanted to show you this cute little treat box I created using a cut file from Trina Clark.

I used Digiscrapkit's "Fall Friends 4" cutting file to create the embellishments used on the box. The box is a file from SilhouetteAmerica made for use with the Silhouette SD cutting machine.

I added the scalloped border piece to the bottom of the box, and popped up the pumpkin for added interest.

I love the little loopy vines in the file and am just amazed that the Silhouette can cut such fine tiny pieces. It is really an awesome machine. If you are thinking about a replacement for that ...ahem.."other" machine, I highly recommend it!

Ladybug, Ladybug

Hi Crafter's, I'm stopping by with another little project I created using Treasure Box Designs cute little ladybug cutting pattern.

I really took liberties in changing this pattern up, but I love how cute it turned out. It'a a tag card using the front of the scalloped tag as the bugs body.

I added the spots and highlighted them with my white gel pen. I created the ladybug word and cut it out using my silhouette die cut machine.

Doesn't he just have the cutest face? This is actually the ladybug from the Valentine collection, but it's such a versatile pattern set, that I have been using it for all kinds of projects this summer.

I added this computer generated tag to a piece of black card stock to fit inside of the card.

Some matching ladybug ribbon and you have a cute finished tag card!

Time to post another Treasure Box Design project in time for the newsletter this week. How about this cute little cow birthday card?

Isn't he darling? And did you know he was one of Dina's past freebie files?

Yup.....he was!!!! So if you haven't signed up for the Treasure Box Designs weekly newsletter, you better do so quick. Otherwise, you'll miss out on a cool pattern like this one!

I changed the ears and hooves to match his spots, and popped up the nose and head for a 3d effect. I cut the basic card out using my die cut machine, then ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I then added the red gingham paper to the base card. I was lucky enough to find cloth brads and a bow in my stash, that match perfectly!

The computer generated label reads "Holy Cow.....another Birthday?" and the inside says, "That's udderly fantastic!"

Primsy Doodle Card

We are now deep into the heart of Summer, and I hope you are enjoying the slower pace of the season. I wanted to share a card I created using this cute digital stamp from Primsy Doodle. I am so excited that Lisa has chosen me to be a design member for her new team. I have loved Lisa's whimsical images since I first discovered them years ago.

How cute is this image from her Monkey Fun stamp set? This is just one of the images I chose to create my card. I can't wait to play with the others in the set as well.

I used my Copic markers to color in the image and I chalked the sky and sand. I also added some swirled embellishments behind the flowers.

My background papers are from Hobby Lobby and the flower embellishments are handmade by me.
I added some punched leaves and a cute stamped saying to finish it off.

Little Scraps Of Heaven Designs Blog Hop

Thanks so much to those of you who visited my blog during the Splash of Summer blog hop from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.
And especially to those who became followers. I'm so glad to have you join me.The photo frame project below was made using LSHD Road Trip Kit.

My project is a cute little frame I made to display one of my vacation photos. I loved the little Road Trip pattern kit as soon as I saw it, and knew it would be perfect for my blog hop project.

The frame is an inexpensive cloth covered chipboard frame and I used it as is. I glued the title straight to the frame and used a pop dot to pop up the car. I wanted to have the car appear to be on a road, so I simply cut a strip of grey cardstock to represent pavement and added white lines, and then popped it under the car.

I also added a road sign on one side to help balance out the frame (not included in the pattern set)

One more look at the final project.

Two new TBD projects

I have a wedding to attend this weekend along with the July 4th celebrations, and I'm ahead of schedule for a change. So I am dropping by with next weeks Treasure Box Designs projects to show you.
First up is my One in A Melon greeting tag card.

This pattern is so much fun. I used only a few of the pattern pieces. There are lots more in the actual set.

I love working with these cute little bears. Especially the sweet faces. It's really what gives them a personality.

And the word art is phenomenal. I love that most of Dina's kits include the word titles. It finishes your projects off just right.

It's the perfect pattern set for all of your summertime cards, layouts or invitations.

My next project is a greeting card that would be perfect for any masculine occasion. Perfect for hubby, a brother, or a little boy's birthday card.

It's from the Treasure Box Design pattern set, Hooked On You.

I kept this card fairly simple and added only the brads, to keep the masculine appeal.

Love the little buggy eyed worm!

Again, I used just several pieces from the pattern kit. The actual set contains a cute boy fishing, cattails and lots more.

Digiscrap's Gingerbread

I've been a paper piecing fool today. I've sat at my desk for 8 hours hunched over with my tweezers and my paper cuttings, and now I have a backache~lol. Ouch....but I've had lot's of fun and wanted to show you one of the projects I completed.

I got this pattern from Trina Clark's Digiscrap store and couldn't resist piecing him together.

I know it's way too early to think winter or gingerbread but I like to work on something off season and I need to work on stuff for my Fall craft show.

I liked him well enough, but felt he needed a smile, so I added a cute little mouth. Much better now :D

Treasure Box Designs new digital kits

Treasure Box Designs has ventured into Digital Scrapbooking!! How cool to be able to combine Dina's adorable images with your software to create tons of printable and digital projects.

This is Treasure Box Designs new Zoo Scrapkit. It has the most adorable images and I have lots of idea's using this kit for making all sorts of projects. Here is a sample of one project I created using just a few of the images in the kit.

I just love these cute bookmarks! I had way too much fun designing them. These were created digitally, but can be printed out on your printer and used as actual bookmarks.
This next project is a baby door hanger that can also be printed out and used to hang on a nursery door.

Isn't it too cute? The images in this kit are clear and crisp and print out very well. Just print them using a good quality card stock and on the best printer setting for optimum results.

The other new scrap kit just released is Sea Babies. It too has wonderful images to work with.

I used some of the elements from this kit to create other matching pieces by using my Photoshop software. I created flowers, a ribbon, and more background paper to create this cute digital frame. It will be perfect to slip in a photo of baby in the pool or a summer at the beach photo.

My next project is a digital sea globe. It will make the perfect embellishment for a digital layout. Remember you can click on any photo to enlarge for a better view.

I created the globe using Paintshop Pro plugins. The ribbon was created using a Photoshop action plugin. (sorry, I can't remember the person to credit the action to) and the flowers were also created in Photoshop.

Bumble Bears and Monkey Shines......

Having just returned from a weeks vacation, I had to scramble to get my projects done for this weeks newsletter. I missed my card making but had a wonderful relaxing time. But now it's time for me to get back to work!
I have a sweet great nephew with a birthday coming up and needed a bug themed card, so this cute little bumble bear pattern from Treasure Box Designs, really fit my needs.

He's the peeking bear from their Unbeelieveable You pattern set. That set is one of my favorites! It's actually a Valentine's kit, but goes to show you how versatile this set is!

I cut out the red background paper using a cutting file I designed for my Silhouette machine and layered the gold card stock on top. I then adhered the paper piecing to the top layer with pop dots to give it some dimension.

I think he turned out cute and makes the perfect birthday card for a little boy.

Next up I have a cute monkey birthday card I made for my Mother's 86th birthday last month.

It was created using the monkey from the Treasure Box Pals pattern kit. I took the palm tree from another pattern I already had. I drew my own sand pattern and added the computer generated greeting. (The inside says...and almost forgot your birthday!)

I think he turned out so cute and Mom loved the card!

Ok, who gave me the first head cold I've had in over 12 years? I don't know which one of you it was, but... Thanks A Lot......NOT! I pride myself on staying healthy and taking all of my vitamins, but this time it didn't help. Someone broke my record of not being sick with a cold and I'm not happy about it! ....lol.....It hasn't helped my creativity in the least!

I did manage to get a project done using Treasure Box Designs, Lets Go Tubing pattern. I love the cute little bears Dina designs and this one was so much fun to work with.

I love how the bears little rump sticks up out of the tube!

I added some orange copic marker dots to the tube and to the title to make them a little more fun.

I will be doing this fun pattern at an upcoming class for Scrapbook 101, so if you are in my area, keep a watch for the dates and details.

The waves you see here are NOT included in the pattern. They are from the Silhouette America store. There are more patterns in the kit. I just chose to use two. You can check out the rest of the kit by clicking here.

This project was designed to fit into an 8 x 10 photo frame. I like doing photo frame project's like this. You can display your beach photo's during the summer, and then remove and replace with a new photo page as the seasons change.

Watermelon Summer & Busy Beavers

The weather here in Michigan has been up and down. For the last 2 days it was hot and humid, and I longed for my air conditioning. Getting it tuned up and ready is now on the top of my 'to do' list. Today is a beautiful sunshiny day though and it makes me happy to just be outside!
I did get to spend some time in my craft room working on some layouts and cards that I'd like to share with you. This first card is a cutting file kit from Trina Clark at Digiscrapkits and I'm thinking it would make a cute future class for the store.

I did some changing of the files to make it easier to assemble. First I changed the flower petals to cut as solid shapes rather than individual petals. I think cutting and gluing each little petal is time consuming. And the overall effect is still maintained. I did the same with the stems and leaves. And I also made my own summer word. The one in the file kit didn't cut well for me. After 3 attempts I just created a new one.

I shaded the flower petals and used my micron pen to make the dotted lines. I added white dots to the flower tops with a gel pen.

I popped everything up with dimensionals and then added it to my card front. Makes a great summer card or layout project.

My next project is a mini scrap page layout. I don't scrapbook and don't own any scrapbook albums. So when I do sample layouts I always do them in an 8 X 10 size format. That way they will fit inside of a page protector and I can add them to a notebook binder.
This layout was created using the 'Billy Beaver' from the Treasure Box Pals pattern from Treasure Box Designs.

I just love their cute little 'bucky beaver' teeth! (remember you can click on each photo for a closeup view)

I used cardstock from Colorbok and added the doodles on the tail and body for more interest. I used a white gel pen for the highlighted lines.

I used a little mini paper bag from Canvas Home Basics to stick this little guy into, and made him some cute computer generated signs to finish off the page.
I thought this would be really cute to add a favorite photo and slip it into an 8x10 photo frame for a gift, as an alternative to a scrapbook.~

Stopping in with a cute little Father's Day project using Treasure Tots, Chef Jeff from Treasure Box Designs collection.

I decided to create a tag card instead of a regular card, so I used a pattern from Silhouette America.I topped the blue tag with white and red card stock, all from DCWV Matchmaker2, and then added my paperpiecing.
I used just part of the pattern set shown here. There's a full size chef and more in the kit too.

You Old Bird.....

May and June bring me lot's of birthdays for which I will need cards, so for the next several postings, that's what I'll be concentrating on. The card today features a cute Treasure Box Design's owl from the Treasure Box Pals pattern. I love the cute little faces on all of Dina's patterns.

I chalked all my pieces first and then mounted him onto Cuttlebug ovals. I used pop dots to lift him up a bit. (Don't forget you can click on any picture to enlarge it.)

I used papers from my leftovers bin, and layered them with cardstock from Colorbok. I stamped the cute sentiment and layered that as well.
(Gee I hope the recipient doesn't get offended at being called an old bird~lol)

Just look at that cute face :) It's what sets Treasure Box Designs patterns a 'cut' above the rest!

Leftover pieces...

Whenever I use my cutting machine, I sometimes cut out extra pieces. In case I might lose some or to fill up the extra space on a piece of card stock. So I'm left with a pile of these.

So after having these pieces left over from yesterdays project, I came up with these cute tags.

I used the leftover flowers from Treasure Box Designs Mother's Day Card kit (see previous post) and applied them to some Tim Holtz preprinted tags. I also used an Inkadinkadoo stamp for the leaves on one, and a Martha Stewart border punch for the grass on another.

Perfect for sticking on a gift or tucked into a card. And a great way to use leftover pieces.

I love using paper pieced patterns to create something different and useful, and today my project is both cute and brings a breath of spring to my home.

I designed my own picket fence box for my cutting machine and used to it create this cute planter box.

I then used Treasure Box Designs "Mothers Day Card" kit and embellished my planter box. I added ,flowers, leaves, vines and the cute bear peeking out of the grass.

The vine is actually a ribbon from the kit, but it reminded me of a vine, so I added the leaves and flowers to make it climb up the side of the box.
I will finish adding more vines and flowers to all three sides to finish it off.

Add more or less embellishments to your liking, add a small plant and you have the cutest spring home accent.

Unbeelieveable You

I have an unbeelieveable project to show you today, but first an exciting bit of news for me. I've been asked to join the design team at Treasure Box Designs!!!! I am so excited to be a member of Dina's team and have loved working with her paper piecing patterns since I first discovered her cute art.
So how very cool is that?

My project today features Treasure Box Designs 'Unbeelieveable You" pattern set. I love anything that has a bee design, (although not real bee's mind you. Those I hate~lol! )
I wanted to create a box I could use for a gift along with a matching gift card, and the bee set was perfect for that.

I created the box bottom using Sunflower Yellow cardstock from Colorbok and Snow White card stock for the top.

I stamped black bees on the top and threaded black sheer ribbon through the slots in the lid.

I reduced the size of the patterns and used the paper pieced bear for the front and added bees to the sides and back of the box. I used vellum for the wings.

I added pop dots to the bear and bees to make them dimensional. A bit of greenery behind the bear and a cute tag on the lid to finish off the box.

For the gift card I used a Martha Stewart punch for the black strip. I then topped it with a white card stock strip, then stamped my sentiment. I added two more bee's to complete the card.

I love the bright sunshiny happy look of the final project. I think it will bring a bit of cheer to it's recipient.

I am not one of those who got up early to watch the Royal Wedding. Sorry to say it just didn't interest me. But I did get up early to work on some cards for Mother's Day. I need quite a few this year, so I decided to create them assembly line style.

I decided to go with a flower theme this year, because all gals love flowers right? I don't have them all put together yet, but will finish them tomorrow. So stop back for a look at the finished project.

I think they're turning out the way I envisioned them, even though it is taking longer than I thought to get them done. No two are exactly alike so I do like that about them. You can always click on any of my photos for a closer look. So,until tomorrow...have a nice night!

Today was more like Spring here, so hubs and I went for a ride down to Lake Michigan. A little too cold for a beach walk yet, but we did try. We sat and watched a single wind surfer doing his dance on the waves. I had forgotten my camera so, no photos to show. I do however have this cute card I whipped up this morning. I made a boy's birthday card, even though I haven't a single boy to give it too. I used a cute image from Cuddly Buddly's.

I had to restrain myself from adding a lot of bling since it was for a boy. But I like the way it turned out.

Easter Goodies

I love Spring! And especially the Easter holiday! I get to play with pinks, yellows, blues and greens in pretty pastel colors. And I get to play with bright flowers ,bunnies, and cute little chicks like these.

This is a cutting machine file from Silhouette America. It holds a small little treat bag, ( in this case I used Peeps candy). I stamped the easter greetings using stamps from the dollar store bin (Joann Fabrics).The paper pieced chicks are included in the cutting file.Perfect for tucking into an Easter basket.

I bought these candy tubes a while back from my local stamp store (Haveman's) and was going to use them for valentine candy. But I never got around to it, so today I decided it was time to use them.

I think they look so spring like. I used 2 different punches to create the flowers, and finished them off with pretty rhinestones. I also added a rhinestone to the top. I stamped the tags with more dollar store stamps and filled them up with jellybeans. Decorative paper is from Stampin' Up.

And remember this cute little bunny bear I showed you a few posts back? Well he's finally finished. I made a table centerpiece, that would be perfect for an Easter table.

(Click on any of the photos if you'd like a closeup view) To make my centerpiece, I hot glued green card stock around a piece of styrofoam, and added easter grass inside. I stuck in some cute little lollipops to represent flowers.

I used a grass border punch on the green card stock, and stamped a cute little sign for the front. I think it turned out pretty well. The little bunny bear is a cutting file from Treasure Box designs.

Some new cut files

Trina Clark from Digi Scrap Kits now has svg cutting files. I pieced two of them this morning and have posted them here for those that asked about them. I did her cute bunny and the bear fun patterns.

The bunny went together fairly easy and I was very pleased with it. Although it has an Easter egg in the pattern, you could substitute another item and use the pattern for any occasion. I added stitches on the ears and foot pads, and inked around all the edges before I pieced it.

On the bear pattern I had to change the piecing on the ears a little because the pink inside of the ear cut out separately. So next time I will cut the ear out as one piece and add the pink piece separately. I think it turned out cute. I added the grass at the bottom using a Martha Stewart border punch. So the grass isn't part of the pattern. I just love their cute little facial expressions.

The files were cut on my Silhouette SD cutting machine after I converted them through Inkscape.

Yippeee.....a new baby

I learned a few months ago that my Grandaughter Becky is expecting a baby this summer. That will make me a first time Great Grandmother!!!!!!!!!!!!!Acckkkk. I can't believe I can possibly be old enough yet~lol~but I guess I am. And I'm so happy to finally have a baby in the family that I can design and make cards and gifts for. We just found out this week, that it's going to be a girl. Yay, that's what I was hoping for :D
I started this baby book before we knew it was going to be a girl, so I used neutral colors that would work for either. Now I'll be able to add touches of pink too. So far I only have the front cover completely finished. But once it's all done I'll share it with you in it's entirety.

The paper pieced bear is from Little Scraps of Heaven and was cut using my Silhouette machine. The flower is made with ColorBox card stock, that I punched out with a Fiskars flower punch and spritzed with water. While it was wet I balled it up, waited for it to dry and then carefully smoothed it out a little to form my flower.
I found such fun paper and embellishments to play with. These are from a local big box store here in Michigan. (Meijer) Aren't they bright and cheerful? I'll use these on the inside pages.

The cute onsie embellishments I made from the paper. I found a cute background paper I loved and used a section of it to cut them out individually. Then I laminated them to make them more durable. They look like shiny 'store bought' ones. I'll use pop dots on them for added dimension.

The background paper is from Paper Studio.

I also had time yesterday to make a couple more projects. This first one is a cute bear.....er..bunny? that I made into a 'poke', that can be inserted into a flowerpot, or an easter basket. It would be so cute as a table decoration.

I love his little bunny ears. This diecut pattern is from Treasure Box's Easter Collection.

I also cut a smaller version for this cute card front.

First Thunderstorm Of The Season

So cool...thunder and lightning. I know it's weird but I've missed it. And how cool is it that it's on the first day of Spring officially?

On to another posting...I know the second in one day. I have had lot's of alone time today , so I've been working on Easter projects. First up is a cute Easter Basket Project using a Silhouette America cutting file. I added egg embellishments and some Cuttlebug diecut grass to dress it up. Cardstock is from Colorbox.

And how cute is this little chicky?

I love the cute grass frame. I put him behind the frame but popped his wings out to give him dimension. The frame is a cut file from Silhouette. The chicky pattern is from Treasurebox Designs. I stamped the cute saying and added a punched out butterfly. This would make a great baby card by just changing up the sentiment.

A Rainy Day Sunday....

Sandra Caldwell is a wonderful artist and today I am showing two cards, made by using one of her folk art style drawings.

The first card I colored in soft pastel colors using my copic markers, and layered it onto decorative paper. I added a lace ribbon and then another dotted ribbon on top. There's lots of glittered flowers, as well as glitter on the cute rabbit. (Click on photo to see detail) The decorative paper is a combination of Colorbox and Scrappin' Up. I added a cute sentiment to finish it off.

This second card I kept simple by layering it onto polkadot Stampin' Up paper, added some corner accents and finished it off with a ribbon and bling. I think it would work good for a masculine card too.

I've been busy......

I have a basket of goodies to show you today.

First up, are these little eggs, complete with a cute chocolate bunny embellishment, lace and flowers. I cut all the pieces out using my Silhouette Sd, then embossed the eggs by running them through my Cuttlebug, and adding the lace or ribbon. I finished by adding pretty rhinestones using my IRock Tool. I think I made a total of 18 and have since given a few away.

Then I made these little guys. They are each one a little different using whatever embellishments I had in my stash. The basic egg and bunny shapes were also cut using my die machine. After cutting each egg in half, I used various border punches to create a decorative edge. Then added the bling. Aren't they adorable?

I think I made 20 in all. I've already given a couple of these away too~LOL!

Then there's this cute couple. I love owls, but let me tell you. These were a pain. I designed the cutting file for my Silhouette, (based on the idea of a popular owl punch.) And getting everything sized right was really hard for me, since I'm new to designing my own cut files. It took me most of an afternoon. But I think it was worth it. I really like their cute spring vests. My husband thinks they look sad, but I don't mind. I guess their droopy little eyes appeal to me. I'll be making lots more in different colors.

The cardstock is from Colorbox. Decorative paper I'm not sure, since it's an older piece from my stash.

Hi All, I was able to take some time out to play with some paper and my Silhouette this afternoon. So today I'm sharing my newest venture with paper piecing. This cute little chick is from Treasure Box Designs. I just love the patterns there, and they are so easy to put together. Even for a beginner like me! (If you'd like to visit their website, the link is in my left hand column)
Sorry for the poor picture quality, but I ran late so had to take an indoor photo with poor lighting. There is actually a lot of inking and shading that you can't see here.

Just a couple of things

Just wanted to stop in and show a couple of little projects I've been working on. This cute little Easter embellishment was made using cutting files and my Silhouette SD. I have more in the works, just working on getting them put together.

One can never have enough bookmarks, especially me, so these next two bookmarks are also made using cutting files with my Silhouette SD. I just love that machine. Decorative paper is from Stampin' Up.

New Digital Stamps

I finally got the new Button Card digital stamps finished and they are now available in my Aimee Asher store.And they should be available soon at Paper Craft Kits also. This is such a fun set of stamps and the many different ways to use them are endless. The kit includes 12 different card stamps and bonus button shaped stamps. You can use the card stamps with real buttons, chipboard buttons, felt buttons, paper punched buttons, all kinds of buttons. Or you can use the included bonus button stamps. Color them with markers, copics, pencils or distress inks, cut them out and adhere the buttons to your stamped button card. Add clear glaze to the tops of the paper buttons for a realistic touch. You can use other embellishments (instead of buttons) for a more unique look. Add a piece of pinking shear cut fabric to the card first and place the buttons on after. Or grunge the card up with inks or chalks, tea stain and add lace to create vintage cards. Make baby cards using cute baby themed buttons and the baby themed button cards. You can even add vintage buttons from your Grandma's button jar. The possibilites are endless.

When you use digital stamps you have the added benefit of being able to resize them to fit any size project you're working on. And no bulky storage problems.

It's Baaaaack!

Just when the grass was poking through....whaaack...we get hit again. Hopefully this will be our last storm of the season. Here's a look across the lake from my front window. Hard to believe that the water was ever warm enough to swim in, and will be again some day!

So instead of gazing out my window and moaning the weather, I decided to create another card using my new button card stamps. This time I stamped the card and doodled some leaves on it. I colored the leaves with my copic markers, and added some cute daisy buttons onto the stems. I removed the shanks first before gluing them down. I layered my yellow decorative paper onto cardstock. The dp is from Stampin' Up.

I cut the cute birds with my Silhouette SD, and added a black heart button and black ribbon for added interest. The little black bird on the button card was also cut out on my diecut machine.
There are so many different ways to use my Button Card Digistamps and I am having so much fun playing with them. There are 12 stamps in all and include bonus buttons to print and use in place of regular buttons. I'll be using another button card stamp to create a cute Easter card so keep watching for that.

Who's Got The Button?

Here is another sample card I made using my new digital button card stamp set. It will be available in my stores on Friday, and includes a total of twelve different stamps. The many ways you can use these stamps will be featured here on my blog so keep checking back for more samples.
In the card sample today I printed the stamp on brown craft paper for a more rustic look. I like how the red buttons pop against the brown cardstock.

This button card stamp has an olde world look to it that would work well with a vintage type card too, for those who like to 'grunge up' or create nostalgic cards.

Above is a baby button card stamp used on vanilla cardstock, that I added button brads to instead of regular buttons. It would be perfect to use on a new baby card. Just don't put your buttons on wrong like I did lol and cover up the baby carriage!

Any type of button, whether it be real buttons, chipboard buttons, felt buttons or vintage buttons can be used on these digital stamp button cards. Let your imagination guide you.

Quiet Time

It has been a very quiet weekend at my house. I am the only one here, and I've enjoyed it. I can eat, sleep and cook when I want....or not, without any distractions. I cleaned my house yesterday so I could play in my scrap room today without feeling guilty. I'm one of those people who CAN craft in a messy house, I just can't be as creative when it's messy. A little voice says "You should be cleaning, not playing"..lol.
Anyway, I am ready for Spring and decided to make some cards today with a light, springy feeling.

This first card I created using some of my favorite buttons, and a new set of button card digital stamps that I will be releasing soon. They should be available in all my stores sometime next week. The set has 10 different stamps that you can use to display your favorite buttons. I will be showing you more cards made using these stamps later this week.

The decorative paper used in this card is from ColorBox,the lace mat I cut with my cutting machine, the pink rose I made ,the lace ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and the heart pin was a gift from my daughter.

This second card I have been thinking about for awhile. Birds and birdcages seem to be a popular embellishment on cards this year, and they are showing up on blogs everywhere. So I needed to add mine to the mix.

My First Easel Card

I won't complain about the weather today. It's pretty much the same story no matter what state you live in. So, instead I'll share my first ever easel card I made. I'm not sure why I was so afraid to try it. They look so nice when finished and are so simple, that I have to laugh at myself for being intimidated by it.

I will admit to cheating a little by using a template and my die cutting machine. But once I got the basic understanding of the folding in my mind, I realized how really simple it is.

And of course the best part of an easel card is that it can fold flat for mailing, and it can be displayed on a table top for a few days, as opposed to throwing it in a box in the closet. Or God forbid......tossing it in the garbage!

I have been wanting to get a stamp with my name and logo on it, for stamping the backs of my cards. Actually I've thought about it for quite some time now. I guess I've just been too lazy to order one. I can get one locally for under $10, so it's not the cost. I just need to do it. So, in the meantime I created some digital ones.I printed them on sticker paper, punched them out and when I need one I'll just peel and stick. I also created some for my daughter and then made this cute little bandaid box for her to keep them in. I hope she likes it!

Decorative paper is by Stampin' Up. I used a leaf punch by EK Success, and the heart cutout was a free cutting file. I used part of her sticker I made and popped it up with a dimensional. I like how it turned out. Thanks for stopping by.

No More Snow ...Please!

I definitely live in the wrong state for someone who hates snow and cold. We have had a ton dumped on us in the past 24 hours and more predicted for next week. And cold? Oh my....about 9 (yes I said 9) degrees here. It will probably dip below zero later tonight the weather man predicts. I am so ready for Spring already. I hibernated in my craft room today and was searching to find something 'spring like' to lift my mood. So...I made the cute card below, with a little snow lady I colored months ago. Yes, I know she is made of snow, but she has spring like blossoms on her hat so that counts.

The stamp is actually a paint pattern from a book that I've had from my painting days. I can't remember the artists name but will post it later when I find it. The lacy mat behind the stamp was created on my cutting machine. The leafy embellishment is a Cuttlebug diecut and the rose I made myself.

I also needed to add to my Valentine stash too so I created 2 more cards. The first I've seen on the web and I've been wanting to try it. So I used a cute scroll design from Silhouette and cut it on my die cutting machine. I added punched hearts from red glittery paper and added a red ribbon.

I just loved making this next robot card with his chocolate candy tummy. I wrapped his tummy in pink patterned paper and added a punched glitter heart. The robot is a cutting file from Silhouette. Isn't he just too cute?

With Valentine's Day just around the corner I am posting my first Valentine's Day card creation. I received a new digital cutter for Christmas and I'm having a blast learning how to use it. This cute owl was cut from a Silhouette die I purchased on line and I love how versatile he will be. I have idea's for Fall, Summer and Spring cards too, and owls are so popular right now. You see them everywhere on the web. The white border is also from a die cut file and the papers used are all from Stampin' Up. The bow and glittery brads are from my stash. Have a good Sunday.
